Steve Drago, CPA, CMA, MBA

Steve Drago is a seasoned finance executive in the software and services industry with over 18 years of broad experience in leading high growth private and public companies in the U.S.  He knows how to create new organizations, grow companies and lead them to profitable and cash positive operations.

Prior to founding CFO Relief, Steve was the Corporate Controller of Ultimus, Inc., a leading BPM (Business Process Management) software company in Cary, NC. The venture-backed emerging-growth company had over 1000% revenue growth in 9 years, increasing its customer base to over 2,000 customers and the opening of 18 offices around the world.

Prior to joining Ultimus, Steve was a CFO or Group Controller with several multi-site manufacturing firms serving industries worldwide. These firms included public and private companies headquartered in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Steve received a BS in Accounting and Finance from Drexel University and an MBA from Cleveland State University.

He is an active Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Management Accountant and a North Carolina Notary Public.

He is a FMVA (Financial Modeling Valuation Analyst) and a QuickBooks Online Pro Advisor.

Steve served on the national Board of Directors of the Institute of Management Accountants for five years. He is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA), the North Carolina Association of CPA’s (NCACPA), the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), the Council For Entrepreneurial Development (CED), and a Founding Member of the North Carolina Executive Roundtable.
